Hi, we’re Nick and Dena Minnie. We are a family-owned and operated business driven by a genuine love for trees and the life-changing power of a beautiful landscape.

Our Journey to the Panhandle
Originally from Pinellas County, we spent years building a successful tree care company in one of Florida’s busiest hubs. In 2020, we felt the call for a different pace of life—one that allowed us to truly connect with the land. We traded the city for the beautiful canopy of Tallahassee, where we’ve embraced the dream of homesteading, complete with chickens, gardens, and a deep appreciation for our new community. Tallahassee has been incredibly welcoming, and we love how trees have a way of connecting us to our neighbors.

Nick Minnie is an ISA Certified Arborist (FL-310303A) with over 15 years of hands-on experience. What started as a childhood passion for climbing evolved into a professional calling. Having trained under veteran arborists and worked for major companies, Nick brings a vast scientific knowledge of tree biology and health. As a skilled climber, he specializes in low-impact removals—taking down trees in hard-to-reach places without the need for heavy equipment that might damage your lawn.

A Client-Centered Approach
Dena Minnie brings a unique perspective to the business with her Master’s Degree in Social Work. Her background ensures that Canopy Tree Care isn't just about the trees; it's about the people. She applies her skills in communication and advocacy to ensure every client feels heard, informed, and respected.
